Ben Smith, long term customer of CGA, purchased The Beetle & Wedge Boathouse at the start of 2020 and stripped it out ready to create a dining experience like his other hostelries; The George (Wraysbury) and The Spring Inn (Sulhampstead). Unfortunately, the COVID-19 shutdown scuppered the original plans for refurbishment and reopening, but Ben is now ready to open the doors on his latest venture this summer, once restrictions on Lockdown are lifted.
CGA, who designed and installed the AV at both The George and The Spring Inn, has worked with the other contractors involved in the transformation of this venue to The Beetle & Wedge Inn, and has installed a sound system to reflect the high standards of food and service. All speakers have been sprayed to match the internal decor and the sound system is divided into three internal zones with the provision being made for external speakers in the future, if required, as the site has a fantastic riverside setting.
What is different about this project is that CGA are trailing a new Sound System Rental arrangement with owner Ben. The AV system has been set up on a three-year rental agreement with CGA and the monthly fixed fee will cover any CGA calls outs as well as the initial installation of the system and any hardware support costs. This enables the venue to deliver the same great sound guests would hear at Ben’s other venues, but with the cost spread over a three year period rather than being made in one initial payment, all that needed to be added was a music player and appropriate licensing.
