Developing AV with Coworth Park

CGA Case Study - Developing AV with Coworth Park

Outline

In 2008 Dorchester Collection started work to renovate a Georgian mansion house and estate bordering Windsor Great Park, to create a luxury country house hotel estate and spa. Coworth Park opened as Dorchester Collection’s eighth property in September 2010.

A 71-room luxury country house hotel and spa, it is set in 240 acres of picturesque Berkshire parkland. The estate includes an award-winning luxury spa with indoor pool and three restaurants including the Spatisserie, relaxed dining in The Barn and their latest gastronomic destination; Woven by Adam Smith.

In 2008 CGA Integration began working with specialist interior designers, Fox Linton Associates, to design and install AV throughout all the restaurants, Spa, Gym, The Bar, Drawing Room and the meeting rooms in the Mansion House and Tower House.

CGA has continued to support Coworth Park’s AV requirements since its opening in 2010, developing them sympathetically, whilst ensuring that technology remains current.

Returning in 2022, CGA has created the sound in Woven. Every detail of the design of this new restaurant has been inspired by the surrounding estate, led by Martin Hulbert Design and celebrates the exceptional dining created by executive chef Adam Smith.

Challenges

The quality of the AV system at Coworth Park has to reflect and enhance the overall ambience of the venue, whilst blending seamlessly with the meticulous interior design and hand crafted finishes. Requirements for AV are diverse and need to support not only the restaurants and award winning spa, but occasions and events throughout the venue including live piano playing, private gigs by rock stars and hybrid meetings.

Technical

The AV systems throughout the venue are multi zonal yet integrated into a central rack, with the added benefit of remote support. This delivers optimum flexibility for both small and large scale events whilst enabling the intimacy of individual spaces created for fine dining. CGA has installed underwater speakers in the spa swimming pool and invisible speakers in ornate ceilings and spa treatment rooms to create a sound system which blends seamlessly with the carefully created decor. The event spaces have been created with fully HD enabled projectors, microphones with invisible aerials hidden in ceiling voids and the facilities required to support Hybrid meetings and events. To support the dining experience, there is a camera feed from the pantry to kitchen enabling service standards to be timed and food delivered to perfection every time.

Response

Zoe Jenkins, General Manager of Coworth Park commented: “we are pleased to still be working with CGA who designed and installed the original AV at Coworth. They have continued to support our AV requirements since opening, developing them sympathetically whilst ensuring we keep our technology current.”
