Case Study:
Le Manoir – Citronelle
Outline
The vision for Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons extends beyond the two starred Michelin cuisine to every facet and detail of their guests’ experience. In terms of their in room luxury and convenience, it is paramount for the guest to have control over audio visual and ambient technology. The brief to long term development partners CGA Integration was to integrate this control into a smoothly functioning, intuitively operable service for this pilot scheme in the Citronnelle suite.
Challenges
Providing wide variety of services and simple intuitive controls is the central challenge, while the variety of guest’s requirements is another. Many requests are standard, but excellence in audio visual services is only achieved through traditional abilities to anticipate all guest wishes. Building this into a system remote from the guest is a challenge CGA Integration specialise in solving.
Control
At the heart of the system and linking all room functions is a custom programmed Nevo controller, offering a wide range of hard buttons and touch screen functionality. This delivers armchair control of CD, DVD, Radio, IPod, TV, and the Lutron lighting system.
Aquavision TV
To complete the luxury of flexible video services, the bathroom flagship feature is a 17” fully waterproof Aquavision TV showing all the hotels TV and radio channels, including custom radio graphics previously supplied by CGA Integration. Appeal is expanded by links to show iPod sound and video, plus a link to replicated main room TV content. Guests are now able to take in DVD’s in the bath, with audio via a discrete sonance ceiling speaker.
BOSE lifestyle system
Sleeping and living space services are based around a Bose lifestyle system offering full 5.1 surround sound, radio and TV. Complimented by an iPod dock and Philips 42″ LCD TV, the package creates an enviable range of options. The Bose system features discrete jewel cube speakers and dedicated hotel menus, assisted by mirrored audio output via induction loop to meet DDA obligations.
Inputs
IPod, TV, Radio, CD, DVD are all accessible via the system, bringing a wide range of global or personal entertainment and news within arms reach. This range can be expanded by the hotel at will using the flexibility of the distribution foundation from previous projects phases.
Lighting Control
Lutron lighting moves moods between anticipated presets or enables custom control to create an ambience to suit any demand. The range of fittings from floor up lighters to conventional ceiling light presents all guests with refreshing permutations for their stay.
Response
“We are delighted to have worked with Chris Gunton and his team over several years. This project, which also takes into account our obligations and our own criteria to create a totally adaptable room for compliance with the DDA regulation, has exceeded expectation. It is very clear, simple and friendly to use and the quality is exceptional. The installation as always, with Chris and his team was trouble free and extremely professional.” Tom Lewis. General Manager, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons.
